Opened in 2018, JCB Golf and Country Club has quickly established itself as one of the finest modern golf destinations in the United Kingdom. Set within the stunning Staffordshire countryside, the championship course was designed by Robin Hiseman of European Golf Design and showcases an exceptional blend of natural beauty, strategic design, and engineering precision.

We were delighted to return to JCB Golf and Country Club to carry out a specialist construction project on the 1st hole, enhancing both playability and aesthetics on one of the UK’s premier championship courses.
The project involved bringing Robin Hiseman’s vision to life with the extension of the 1st tee out into the existing lake; a visually striking design feature that enhances the hole’s character and provides a more dramatic and challenging start for golfers. The new tee area was constructed using stone sourced directly from the nearby JCB quarry, ensuring a seamless match with the surrounding landscape and maintaining the course’s natural identity.
Working closely with the greenkeeping team, each stage of the build was carefully managed, from irrigation installation through to turfing. This collaborative approach ensured the tee extension blended perfectly into the existing course infrastructure whilst maintaining the high standards expected at JCB Golf and Country Club.
With all work to the 1st tee completed in early March 2025, it was in play for the LIV Golf tournament in July 2025, adding an extra layer of drama to an already exciting championship.
